From Yarn to Oils: A Natural Connection

There’s something truly peaceful about the rhythm of crochet. The way the yarn flows, the hook moves, and the fabric slowly forms—it’s almost like a gentle meditation. For me, crochet has always been a source of comfort, a quiet space where creativity and calm meet.

My mother taught me how to crochet. It was her love of creating that planted a seed in me. I carry that with me every time I pick up a hook. The joy I feel when I’m making something beautiful.

And when I discovered aromatherapy, something beautiful happened: those calming scents felt like the perfect companion to the art I already loved.

I was introduced to essential oils by my son, Allan Michael, and I immediately fell in love—especially with lavender. The soothing aroma reminded me of how I feel when I’m wrapped in a handmade blanket or working on a cozy dishcloth. I began blending oils into creams, sprays, and gels—at first just for myself, then as gifts, and now for others through my shop.

Whether it’s diffusing lavender while I crochet or using a calming lotion to soothe my hands after a long session, combining aromatherapy with crafting became second nature.
