  • Lavender - Lavender essential oil, known for its calming properties, also doubles as a natural insect repellent. It contains compounds such as linalool and linalyl acetate, which emit a pleasant floral aroma that repels insects. The scent of lavender oil acts as a deterrent for mosquitoes, flies, and other unwanted pests.

Cedarwood - Cedarwood essential oil contains compounds such as cedrol and thujopsene, which emit a strong woody aroma that repels insects. The scent of cedarwood essential oil is particularly effective in deterring mosquitoes, ants, and many others. That makes it excellent for a mosquito repellent or an all-natural essential oil bug spray!

Peppermint - Peppermint essential oil is an effective and refreshing insect repellent, known for its natural qualities. It contains menthol, a compound that emits a strong minty aroma that repels insects. The scent of peppermint oil acts as a potent deterrent, especially against flying pests.

Lemon Eucalyptus - lemon eucalyptus oil is known to be effective at repelling mosquitoes. The oil contains a compound called PMD (para-menthane-3,8-diol), which has been found to be as effective as DEET in repelling mosquitoes. When applied to the skin, lemon eucalyptus oil can provide protection against mosquito bites for several hours.

Eucalyptus - added for its sharp, camphor-like scent and is widely used in natural mosquito repellents due to its refreshing aroma that many insects dislike.

Vanilla Extract - Not only is it a fantastic baking ingredient, and prized throughout the world for its strong flavor, vanilla extract can actually act as a natural insect repellent. This natural substance works well against insects such as mosquitoes, flies, and gnats.

I can finally take a peaceful morning walk

Woke up in a great mood and took Cooper for a walk—but the gnats were terrible. My usual bug spray left me oily and didn’t help at all. A couple days later, I told my mom, and she gave me her all-natural spray. I tried it that evening in the garden, and not a single bug bothered me—even on a humid day! It smells amazing, isn’t oily, and actually feels good to wear. Game changer. Thanks, Mom!
